Skydive Tecumseh is located approximately an hour and fifteen minutes east of Kalamazoo straight down I-94. We’ve been operating for over 50 years and have a rich history in skydiving. During this time, we’ve hosted residents of Kalamazoo and neighboring Michigan cities and towns throughout our history. We have proudly earned the reputation as the premier skydiving destination in the state of Michigan. What makes us unique is our aircraft type, exit altitude, world-class facilities, renowned customer service, and attention to detail!

Unique Aircraft at Skydive Tecumseh

If you’re thinking all skydive dropzones are the same, you’d be mistaken! A great skydiving experience goes beyond a simple exit, free fall and landing! A major element to a skydive is the aircraft you jump from. Ask any skydiver and they’ll tell you that getting to jump altitude quickly and having the ability to jump with friends plays a big role in the enjoyment of the sport. Skydive Tecumseh flies a Beechcraft King Air – the fastest aircraft in Michigan carrying up to 14 passengers to 14,000 feet in about eight (8) minutes as well as a PAC750XL which holds up to 12 jumpers! Additionally, if you want to jump with friends on the same plane load, you can do that here (something that is not possible at all dropzones). Because of our aircraft, we have been a fan favorite for students at Kalamazoo College (go Hornets!), Western Michigan University, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College for decades!

Altitude 

Skydivers want to get to altitude quickly, but another big factor is altitude – the higher the better! Because we fly a powerful King-Air, we have the ability to offer our guests to three different altitudes: 9,000’, 14,000’ and 19,000’. A 14,000’ skydive lasts for about one minute and goes by quickly – an 18,000’ skydive is in rarified air (actually requires the use of oxygen) and is seldom offered by the majority of skydiving centers in the US. If guests are looking for the ultimate experience, our 18,000’ option takes an incredible experience and makes it even better! 

Our Facilities 

Skydive Tecumseh used to be located in Tecumseh, Michigan but a few years ago, we moved to Napoleon Airport in Jackson and we’ve never looked back! Our new location is 25 minutes closer to Kalamazoo and is a skydivers dream come true! Our owner, Franz Gerschwhiler dreamt of building a state of the art facility and after years of planning, building one of the nation’s most modern and state of the art facilities! Our facilities include an enormous hangar for our aircraft, tons of space for packing parachutes, modern and pristine classrooms for training, office suites, a huge spectator area, retail store, modern bathrooms, jumpsuits, and equipment! We are so proud of what we’ve built and we’d love for you to experience it!

We believe that a great skydiving experience extends beyond the actual skydive itself. The instructor who you jump with plays a big part in your experience and we are focused on not just employing great skydivers, but great human beings who love what they do. We believe in exceeding expectations before our guests board the aircraft by paying attention to the small details from the moment you arrive. Franz along with General Manager, Ryan “Shaggio” Levesque strives to ensure that everyone leaves Skydive Tecumseh feeling that they’ve just had a world-class skydiving experience. We don’t think the great people of Kalamazoo need to travel to New Zealand to have the world’s best skydiving experience… you can get it right here at Skydive Tecumseh!
