Skydiving preferences are just about as varied as the people that come to make those skydives. There are jumpers that wouldn’t trade a sunset skydive for the world and others that think a nice air bath makes for the perfect midday perk-up. Since individuals are entitled to different opinions for the best time to skydive, allow us to lay out the facts, so you can choose the best time to skydive for you.
Because of miserable, chilly temperatures during the winter, our skydiving season takes place from April to November. Which leaves the question of what is the best time of year to skydive? Here is what skydiving in each season is like:
As the world begins to thaw, what better way to break free from the embrace of hibernation than with a skydive? As greenery returns to brighten up our scenery, the excitement of the upcoming skydiving season is palpable. Although the spring brings skydivers out of their seasonal sabbatical, things haven’t quite ramped up as they do in the summer. If you prefer a more mellow pace and potentially lower wait times, spring is the best time to skydive.
Keep in mind that the average high temperatures in our region in the spring range from about 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. If you join us to skydive on a cooler spring day, it will be important to come prepared by wearing a few light layers.
Oh the busy hum of a drop zone in the summer, it simply just has to be witnessed to be appreciated! Summer is considered by many to be the best time of year to skydive. Between balmy temperatures and long sunny days, the summer certainly has its perks when it comes to skydiving. Summer is also one of the most popular times to skydive, which means if you want to ensure you’ll be able to jump, it is necessary to schedule ahead of time. For those that like a high-energy, fast-paced vibe, summer is the best time to skydive.
The autumnal hues of fall foliage are only properly appreciated from a birds-eye view. For those with an appreciation of aesthetics, fall is the best time of year to skydive. With the summer crowds dispersing and comfortable temperatures all around, for many, the fall could easily be considered the best time to skydive. However, the weather can err toward the soggy side. As we cannot jump in inclement weather, if the day of your skydive looks like there will be a high percentage of rain, give us a call.
Now that you know the essentials for skydiving in each season, what about the best time of day to skydive?
Some may wake up with a steaming hot cup of coffee, but the truly adventurous take a big sip of adrenaline to get the blood pumping! That’s right. We consider the morning the best time to skydive and for a few good reasons. Often, the morning offers the clearest skies. Even if the forecast for a day looks less than desirable, the morning is typically jumpable. Additionally, customers that schedule in the morning generally have the lowest wait times. For these reasons, the morning has our vote for the best time of day to skydive.

Went and did my first jump with Skydive Tecumseh and t was awesome! My dad had been telling me for 10 years he was going to take me and never did. So finally for his 50th birthday, I took him! It was an amazing experience all thanks to the staff at Skydive Tecumseh! They were friendly, helpful, and totally laid back! They definitely knew how to make a first-time jumper feel at ease! I would highly recommend them and will definitely be going back again!
