Welcome to a New Era!

It is said that all good things must come to an end, and that’s what it seemed like with the fate of Skydive Tecumseh after 50 glorious years in Tecumseh, Michigan. If you’re not familiar with the entire story of why we’re not there anymore… well, let’s just say that’s in the past, but we didn’t want to leave.

Two years ago, we made the move (begrudgingly) to the Napoleon airport and operated out of some T-hangars while our owner, Franz Gerschwiler figured out what we would do next. Rather than cower, Franz decided to go all in. There would be no dwelling on the past; it was decided that Skydive Tecumseh’s name would remain to honor that past, but we would look forward with a dream to develop the best skydiving facility in Michigan.

DID YOU KNOW? It takes two full days of mowing using a 15′ wide mowing deck to cut the landing area and runways at Skydive Tecumseh!

Franz and his team started to put together a blueprint for something spectacular that would serve as a skydiving hub for Detroit, (1hr 15 minute drive), Ann Arbor (40 minutes) and Lansing (45 minutes). The final result is breathtaking, though the project itself had many bumpy roads. We’re so excited to finally unveil our very special dropzone to Michiganders and the entire world wishing to experience skydive at a beautiful facility in a beautiful state.

So, join us for a tour of the new and improved Skydive Tecumseh located at the Napoleon airport in Jackson, Michigan!

Our 11,000 sqft Hangar!

Our beautiful King Air loving her new space!

As you can see below, the hangar is huge (and you’re only seeing half of it). Note the ample packing space around the King Air. What’s also nice is the hangar doors open out on hydraulic jacks (they don’t slide open). With the hangar door opening out, it provides even more space and shade!

Ample packing space plus offices and training classrooms on the second floor!

On the other side of our building is where our guests check-in. Snacks, drinks, apparel can all be purchased onsite. We also have a huge spectator waiting area in the A/C for hot days with big windows with a perfect view of our landing area!

LOTS OF LAND!

Following the lessons learned from Skydive Tecumseh, Franz knew that he needed to own the property for his facility, so 108 acres of beautiful land was purchased! The land includes two runways and a gigantic landing area which our skydivers love!

The landing area is so big, it makes our 11,000 sqft hangar look small!

TWO RUNWAYS

The property has two runways – one is 2700′ long and the other is 2500′ long!

Come Join Us!

Welcome to the new, Skydive Tecumseh! We hope you’ll join us and experience a new level of skydiving!

Tandem Skydiver in freefall at Skydive Tecumseh

On Labor Day my daughter took our first jump. She got me it for my 62nd birthday to check off my bucket list. It was the most intense adrenaline rush I have ever experienced. James and Amber (my daughters tandem partner) were very professional and made our jumps fantastic. We will be back again and hope to bring a group with us. Tremendous experience.
