Before setting off on any escapade, it pays to be prepared. Imagine if you were planning a cross-country road trip and trying to plot stops at the perfect places to pause and peruse or trying to make sure you were all set on supplies before hitting the Appalachian trail, we bet you would want to talk to someone who has ‘been there and done that’ to get accurate intel. Skydiving is no different! The people in our industry are like little gem mines of information and a chance to chat with them could help make sure you get the most out of your experience. It would be like if when you were learning physics in school you had the chance to chat with Einstein. Well, Manifest is a lot like the Einstein of the drop zone, and it is your lucky day! Here is your chance to learn what Manifest wants you to know when you are preparing for your first or second or even 50th skydive!
If you’ve been given access to it, please complete your waiver before you arrive. Slow-downs on the clerical ends of things can affect efficiency across the entire operation. It’s a lot like a Rube Goldberg machine, if one piece isn’t quite in sync or doesn’t coordinate, the whole complex contraption can fall apart. Completing the required paperwork prior to your arrival on site will help keep everything running smoothly and will help expedite the check-in process. Speaking of check-in…
The time you schedule for is your arrival time rather than the actual time you will be boarding the aircraft. From check-in to training to planes fueling and gear getting repacked, there are a lot of steps and elements we have to consider before you end up in the air. Honestly, a lot goes on behind the scenes to ensure an excellent experience for you. Our instructors want to give each customer the best experience, and we don’t want to rush them! If you expect to spend a few hours on-site and plan accordingly, you probably won’t even notice the time passing.
Flexibility and patient are important because often a fair amount of the time on your scheduled day will be spent on the ground. Aside from the usual time the whole process takes from check-in to touch down, we have the weather to contend with. Weather can be unpredictable and can definitely affect wait times. From low clouds to questionable winds, we have your experience and safety in mind and we will not put you in the air until it is safe to do so.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. We don’t expect you to know exactly what to do or where to go, and we are here to help! We know your nerves might be a bit wracked and that pre-jump adrenaline is pumping through your veins, and we will work with you to answer all your questions. But, please, don’t forget to listen to our answers!
It is best to leave the day of your skydiving experience wide open. Like we said earlier, weather can be unpredictable; winds can pick up and clouds can roll in. These types of weather changes may cause delays. We don’t want you stressed about missing a late afternoon lunch or early dinner you’ve planned for after a skydive. There is nothing that can cause distress quite like rushing around and trying to cram too many things into a day. Skydiving is an experience of a lifetime. Please don’t sell it and yourself short. Let skydiving be the highlight of the day and plan other events for later on in the evening. If the others happen, that is awesome too, but don’t run yourself ragged trying to do too much.
I've been here 2 times now and both times have been the experience of a lifetime! I plan on going again next summer as well. When people ask "why jump out of a perfectly good airplane" I reply with "because it's a perfectly good plane to jump out of!!" The people here are amazing and every time someone is looking for a good place, skydive Tecumseh is the only place that I recommend. I also like the fact you can donate the little bears too!!
